How we work as an energy broker
Last updated 21 October 2026
We want you to know exactly how we work before you agree anything. This page follows Ofgem's guidance for businesses using energy brokers (also called third-party intermediaries).
Who we are
SR Supply Limited, trading as We Connect B2B (company no. 12594426) is an energy broker. We are not an energy supplier. When you choose a deal, your energy contract is always directly with the energy supplier, and the supplier bills you.
Which suppliers we compare
We compare prices from a panel of UK business energy suppliers, through our broker platforms. We do not cover the whole market. For every quote we tell you which suppliers we checked, and we will never say a deal is "the cheapest on the market" unless we can show it.
How we are paid
- We do not charge you a separate fee. We are paid a commission by the supplier you choose.
- The commission is included in the unit rate (pence per kWh) and/or standing charge you pay. It is based on your estimated yearly usage.
- Suppliers must show broker costs in your contract's principal terms. Ask us at any time and we will tell you, in pounds and pence per kWh, how much we are paid on your contract.
- Because commission is based on estimated usage, we use your real usage from your bills wherever we can.
Before you agree
- There is no cooling-off period for business energy contracts, including contracts agreed by phone. A verbal agreement is binding — so we will always send you the price and main terms in writing first.
- Business contracts usually run for a fixed term (often 1 to 3 years) and may have exit fees if you leave early.
- You are never obliged to accept our offer, and we will never pressure you to sign.
- Some charges (for example certain network or environmental costs) can be passed through and may change during the contract — we will point these out.
Letter of authority
To get prices we may ask you to sign a letter of authority. It lets us ask your current supplier for details such as your usage, meter information and contract end date. It does not sign you up to anything, and you can withdraw it at any time.
If you need extra help
If you have difficulty understanding contracts, a disability, or would like to speak in another language, tell us — we can explain in English, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Urdu and take more time.
Complaints and independent help
- Tell us first — see our complaints procedure. We acknowledge within 2 working days.
- If we can't resolve it within 8 weeks, or you are unhappy with our answer, you can go free of charge to the Energy Ombudsman, our independent redress scheme. Our membership number is C35SRSU01 (our Energy Ombudsman page).
- Citizens Advice gives free help to micro and small businesses: 0808 223 1133 (Welsh 0808 223 1144).
Regulation
Energy brokers are not currently licensed by Ofgem. The government has announced that Ofgem will regulate brokers in future; we will register and follow the new rules as soon as they apply. Until then we follow Ofgem's guidance for businesses using brokers, and suppliers only work with brokers who belong to a qualifying redress scheme — as we do.
